F2F is a one-person-operation (see 'The Training Market' for advantages and disadvantages of this).
Such being the case, part of F2F's differentiation lies in our Vision and Values, partly in our Philosophy & Approach and partly simply in the qualities and experience of myself, Carolyn Crawford as the sole coach and trainer.
Vision & Values
Vision
F2F exists to make a difference. Our mission is to improve communications between people at work, in order to strengthen clarity, understanding and hence healthy, productive relationships across the board.
Of course, ultimately we’d like that positive communication to spread to world peace, but we’re prepared to take it one step at a time
Values
With our vision of ‘making a difference’ in mind, we aim to embody this cause at three levels:
The Personal Level – We always aim to be a pleasure to deal with – to listen, be flexible, be practical and real so every interaction is positive and productive.
The Business Level – We work in small groups or 1-on-1 so we can give in-depth feedback and personal coaching to maximise every participant’s competence and confidence. This not only assists people be more effective in all their daily communications but in turn creates more positive encounters for others in the organisation potentially snowballing into a more open and dynamic culture.
The Broader Level – F2F, to the best of its ability, aims to donate regularly, and volunteer unfortunately less regularly, to not-for-profit organisations devoted to: sustainability; clean water; human rights; global health and locally disadvantaged among others.
F2F's Philosophy & Approach
Being an excellent communicator means being able to handle, elegantly and effectively, a full range of business communications from board level presentations to individual staff concerns.
Becoming an excellent communicator is not so much a function of learning more sophisticated or clever techniques, but the result of practicing and polishing a few core skills to an exceptional level.
Valentino Rossi, Tiger Woods and Roger Federer are not applying different skills to the average motorcyclist, golfer or tennis player, but they apply the core skills at the highest level.
At F2F we pride ourselves on empowering people through excellent communication to maximise their personal effectiveness in all their daily communications.
F2F specialises in four key areas of communication:
Presentation Skills
- Small Group Training and 1-on-1 coaching
Influencing Skills
- Small Group Training and 1-on-1 coaching
Facilitation Skills
- Small Group Training and 1-on-1 coaching
Communication Skills
- 1-on-1 coaching only
Within these four offerings F2F offers a simple set of practical, proven tools which are relevant and powerful no matter your current level of skill or experience.
F2F works in small groups, or 1-on-1 coaching, to ensure these skills are learnt, practiced and applied at the highest levels, to help your people be the best they can be.
Hence our motto "Doing the basics .... Brilliantly!"
Carolyn Crawford
For ease of reading I've broken my biography into 3 chapters.
Chapter 1 - The Stockbroking Years
The first 9 years of my working life were in stockbroking. NAB London then JB Were Sydney. The benefits of this are:
- I'm highly familiar with the workings and language of particularly the finance industry, but also the broad range of industries and businesses I recommended.
- I presented at regular education seminars so I know the pressure and nerves associated with this process.
- I had to communicate technical concepts to sometimes less technical clients, as do many of the people I train now.
In that time I completed my Securities Institute Diploma , topping Australia in my year. I only mention this because I hope it demonstrates that:
- I'm dedicated, conscientious and hard-working
- I apply intellectual rigour to my teachings
- I can keep up with, and provide challenge for, the 'best and brightest' in your organisation
Chapter 2 - The Presentation Skills Training Years
While at JB Were, I was put through a Presentation Skills course and found my calling! I spent 12 years as senior consultant for a small, specialist, presentation skills training organisation. In that time I:
- Worked well at all levels, and within all departments, of a vast array of organisations
- Trained over 3000 people and became highly flexible to build rapport with, and bring out the best in, each participant
- Did my own business development so am particularly conscious of what works when 'presenting to sell'
- Maintained excellent long-term relationship with clients - testimony I hope, to the flexible, friendly and high level of service I offer.
Chapter 3 - F2F Pty Ltd
I set up F2F in order to be able to offer clients:
- More customised training solutions
- A greater diversity of offerings and formats
- A personal, down-to-earth, easy service
On the lighter side, feel free to talk with me any time about my great love and passion (other than of course the business and my partner), which is motorcycling. I ride a Honda Hornet 600 and will while away many hours discussing bikes with you if you'll let me!
